by James Hale on November 8, 2025 at 12:15 am

Max Cohen was tired of scrolling. Like many people, COVID lockdowns and the ensuing rise of short-form digital content had him spending more time on his phone than ever. And while he found some content and creators that sparked joy, others weren’t hitting. “I think what drew me to making videos was seeing other people Visit Tubefilter for more great stories.

  • With $19 billion in quarterly sales, TikTok Shop now rivals eBay
by Sam Gutelle on November 7, 2025 at 9:38 pm

How big is TikTok Shop? Just two years after its U.S. launch, its sales already rival those of a 30-year-old ecommerce platform. So claims analytics firm EchoTik, which compared TikTok Shop’s gross merchandise value (GMV) to that of eBay. When the two social shopping hubs are paired against one another, eBay still comes out on top — but only barely. The place to go to bid on used items generated $20.1 billion of quarterly sales between July and September of this year. TikTok Shop’s GMV over the same period reached $19 billion. • U.S. households like streaming more than twice as much as paid TV
by Sam Gutelle on November 7, 2025 at 8:21 pm

2025 may be remembered as the year when streaming platforms eclipsed their linear TV brethren, and a new report offers some data points that show just how dramatic that shift has been. Parks Associates has shared some findings from its S.O.S. State of Streaming report, and the headlining figure relates to the ubiquitous adoption of subscription-based streaming services. The consulting firm found that 91% of U.S. internet households pay for at least one streaming subscription. That percentage represents the deep level of penetration streaming services have achieved within the U.S. population. That saturation has been evident ever since Netflix ascended to the top of the entertainment world, and it represents a double-edged sword for streaming services.
